Christopher Jones is well-versed in using his body as his most important tool. As a martial artist for nearly three decades, he is familiar with the aches, pains, and injuries that go along with sports and competition. It was while dealing with his own major shoulder injury that he learned the value and effectiveness of an integrated rehabilitation program that included comprehensive evaluation, exercise, and manual therapies. It is from that experience that Christopher has formulated his approach to the therapeutic process.
Christopher is a Board Certified and Licensed Massage Therapist in practice since 2007. In that time he has been privileged to work with everyone from minutes-old infants to those in hospice care. Although his main area of work has been in the realm of rehabilitation and pain management in physical therapy and chiropractic offices, Christopher is also certified in pre- and perinatal massage, and infant massage.
Christopher has also earned a master’s degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in exercise for older adults from A.T. Still University, and holds bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Psychology from the University of Maine. He is also certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Christopher is a longstanding member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and sometime in 2018 will be an Approved Continuing Education Provider through the NCBTMB.
