What is a Saline Filtration System?

A saline pool filtration system, also known as a saltwater pool system or a salt chlorination system, is a method of pool sanitation that uses salt and a chlorine generator to keep the pool water clean and free from harmful bacteria and algae. It is an alternative to traditional chlorine-based pool systems.

Benefits of a saline pool filtration system include:

  • Reduced Chlorine Odor and Irritation: Saline pools generally have lower chlorine concentrations compared to traditional chlorine pools. This can help reduce the strong chlorine smell and minimize eye, skin, and respiratory irritation often associated with traditional chlorine pools.
  • Softer Water Feel: Saline pools tend to have softer-feeling water, which some swimmers find more enjoyable and gentle on their skin.
  • Convenience: Saline pool systems require less monitoring and manual chlorine adjustments compared to traditional chlorine pools. The chlorine generation process in a saline system can help maintain more consistent chlorine levels, reducing the need for frequent testing and adjustments.
