I’ve been crossing all sorts of finish lines lately! The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of graduations, road races, and road trips to remember.
I recently had the privilege of attending a special tribute run at Auburn Middle School where my students promptly sprinted by me in a “Final Mile” event. I was also lucky to participate in Katies 5K: The Best 5k in Central Mass – another race to remember, organized by our own Kat Pittinger. (I should note that approximately 75% of my glassware collection consists of Katie’s 5k pints at this point. Talk about motivation to finish in the top three!) On top of that, I received my diploma from Boston College. Who could ask for a more successful springtime?
will.i.am’s new track “Bang Bang” has kept me fresh on all of my runs lately, including a rainy one this morning with the Pavement Pack. I plan to reserve this track for the final 1,000 meters of the Firefighter’s 6k tomorrow as I continue my Tour De Worcester. A bit of quick googling revealed that the last time I ran this race I managed a 26:10 (in, ahem, 2003). Here’s hoping I can stay under the 30 minute marker in my old age…
I would like to thank Worcester Fitness for their generous donation of two personal training sessions to Camp Putnam’s ‘Calendar for Kids‘ raffle. Camp Putnam helps to keep the ‘at risk’ youth of Central Mass healthy all summer long. Other prizes include Red Sox tickets, season tickets to Holy Cross Basketball, and lots of gift cards to great local restaurants. The sooner you mail your entry in, the more chances you have to win! We plan to raffle off the personal training sessions on June 27th.
